Windy” - Digital print on Archival paper - 20” x 30” by Jim Flosdorf

James Flosdorf (May 11, 1934 - October 19, 2018) attended Germantown Friends School, received a B.A. from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., and went on to earn his Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Rochester. He taught English at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa. and retired from Russell Sage College in Troy as chairman of the English Department.

Jim was an artist, poet, and award-winning photographer with gallery shows at the Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region, Siena College, and many other venues. Jim also had a passion for collecting and supporting the arts. As an avid conservationist and naturalist, beginning in 1958, Jim spent each summer, for over 40 years, on Lake Temagami, Ontario, Canada, where he was active in, and President of, the Temagami Lakes Association for many years. He enjoyed boating, exploring, rockhounding, quietly reading on the porch, and taking extensive wilderness canoe trips in the Temagami area.
